OS went to the new plating process after the introduction of the "AX".

The locating pin for the "FX" is in the rear and the one for the "AX" is above the exhaust port

Most of your assumptions are correct

Ultimately, the Low speed mixture needs to be slightly rich to facilitate acceleration when you give it the throttle. Therefore it does not work so well to do...

Thread Lock most likely will not hold with all the heat?

Get new bolts and snug them up when the muffler is hot.

Being as it is a ringed engine, you should use some fuel with a little castor oil in it.

If you lean them out on Cool Power, they will over heat and ruin the ring.

Did you have the sleeve out?

The crank pin needs to be at 11 PM when looking into the rear of the engine and the con rod sort of twist off the pin

The rod may be stuck on the pin? keep working...

The power to weight ratio of the 240 doesn't usually lend itself to 3D type aerobatics. They are most typically used on Piper J-3 Cub type planes

Even the old ST 60 versions were actually 61's

The S61 was Schnurle ported and had a 6 bolt round machined head. It had a removable front bearing housing

The S61K had a four bolt Schnurle...

The ST S61, S61K, and G61 were all favorites. The ST 75 series was even more popular if you were not in competition that required 10cc disp. Also the ST 90 which were the same foot print as the 61...

The guy I fly with has one and it's had a lot of use since thy came out. Never any bearing problem

It's been run on Power Master Premium 10%

Engine is inverted in a UCD 3D and the fuselage...
