As far as the stick on panel lines you do have another option considering the plane is now assembled.
Purchase a flexable ruler fine tip sharpie ( silver ) and test your drawing skills on the bottom...

Marc, I will try to get pics of the spring loaded gear doors , it was a rather simple but very effective set up and no additional servos were used to activate the doors.
