Yes, that's good advice if you're building, but to re-do mine and take out the dihedral would be more trouble than it's worth to me. If I do it, I'll just couple in some rudder with the ailerons on...

My Kadet Jr flew for awhile on an OS 25 FP which was plenty of power for three channel aerobatics. I have an OS 26 FS on it now and I'd prefer to have a little more power, though it takes off from...

People who put flaps on Seniors, LT-40s, etc. seem to enjoy them so why not?
I wouldn’t worry about getting the servos centered on the surfaces. Just compare it with a single servo in the center...

Everyone has their opinions on power. For training and putt putting, my opinion is that an OS 55 is way too much. Mine, at 6 lbs even, flies perfectly for those purposes with a 46LA. See post...

All my tail-draggers have enough clearance between prop and ground when the tail comes up and fuselage is level. I know that isn't absolutely necessary, but if it were me, I'd use tall enough gear...

For ground handling, when I was still flying 3 channel and knew I was going to get 4 channel I set up my computer radio so that both sticks worked the rudder. That way I could fly with the right...

I totally, heartily and unbendingly disagree with Tony. On a 3 channel plane with dihedral the rudder mainly controls roll, not yaw. The only exception is in a stall turn.

Right stick for roll,...

Jeff, I trained a guy at our field on an old 3 channel Sig Kadet and he and I both liked it better than the club trainer with ailerons. Why not just teach the grandkids on 3 channels? For training,...

Two things changed:

1. The extra wing increases the total wing area, but the stab area and tail moment arm are the same. That means the stabilizing force has decreased compared with the...
