The Saito just barely fits inside the cowl without any cutouts for the valve cover. I doubt anything with a larger diameter could be made to fit without major surgery on the cowling.

I mounted the 84 in the Corsair directly off the firewall, and contrary to what everyone says, it will fit inside the cowl. I DID grind down the fins on the valve cover just to get a tad bit more...

Mein,
You COULD get away with as few as 6 channels using lots of Y-harnesses or Matchboxes. I think using your 9 channel would be fine. I ended up using 17 channels, but I put everything on it's...

I used one from PSP Manufacturing (www.pspmfg.com (http://www.pspmfg.com)) as they have blue anodized ones that were hardly noticeable against the blue of the cowl. I mounted it near the bottom of...

Thomas,
I attached the oleo door exactly the same way Nick did using elastic from Wal-Mart. Cheap, works perfectly and replaceable should you need to.

Chorner,
I used different servos than the manual recommended. I used Spektrum A5040 servos. A little bigger, but the outer one fits into the opening on the wing panel when you slide it on, so no...

Ted,
I used 4 servos for the gear doors also and used the sequencer built into the DX-18 to operate them individually and incorporated the retract (air) valve also. I had used a Spektrum 12120 12...

njmheli,
I too used the Vanessa sling. It doesn't seem to matter weather the plane is inverted or not, but I did balance with gear UP. It is a little confusing at first, but what I did after I...

I balanced the one I built at the very rearward position of the CG range and flew perfectly at that with almost no trim adjustments. I also balanced upright as it was just easier with the balancer I...

Tom,
When I installed the FG-84 in the Corsair for a customer, I installed the fuel tank exactly the same way you have yours and it's worked fine ever since. No problem with fuel delivery or engine...

Don,
In all honesty, if you ever installed Robart style hinges before, you really don't need the gauge. I built the Corsair without using any of the gauges and it was just fine.

Tom,
I possibly could have moved the motor an 1/8" down, the lower 2 cylinders were very close to the cowl also, so I am not positive it would have gave me enough room or not. I just ordered a...

Tom,
The Corsair I built used the stock offset in the firewall. I use .200" spacers between the Saito and the firewall. I DID grind the fins off the rocker covers on the top (#1) cylinder so that...

Chris,
Admittedly, I tend to build heavy as I reinforce the firewall, and some of the bulkheads near the nose. Gassers tend to vibrate quite a bit, and having never run the Saito FG-84, I wasn't...

Zeeb,
You know what? It still flew great at about 34 pounds. Nice and smooth in the air, no sinking in the turns, and penetrated the wind nicely. When I felt the weight of the Saito, I was...

Affas,
I'm not sure what happened with your plastic pieces, but mine had no issues. That's not good for you. I even heated the main gear doors with a hot air gun to get the correct curve in them...

You are correct, it should plainly state that is it for one wheel, and they dropped the ball in that area. Probably because if the price was listed for a set, it would be too intimidating for most...
