Sandbagged Easy Eight

I think you need to go over the sandbags with OD from the top? Other than that, all you are missing is a furious Gen Patton berating the crew

Psychological mostly, the bags would tend to prevent incoming shells from glacing off the frontal armour, and in any case they would provide little resistance to a high velocity anti tank round fired a typical engagment distance in North West Europe. They would have been effective against shaped charge weapons like the Panzerfaust, provided they were thick enough. I had read that the British practice of draping track all over the tank in particular was ineffective against that type of weapon as the science of the shaped charge wasn't as well perfected is it is today, and the Panzerfaust tended to detonate too close to the armour for the maximum effect to be achived - detonating a little further from the main armour plate made the charge work much better.

Plus the added weight of the sandbags tended to make the tanks break down (engines and transmissions). Sandbags are actually really effective against small arms fire, but a lot less so against large caliber tank rounds. They weren't really as effective as people would think on tanks.

I also really like the Camo, I think the result is excellent and does not need a dusting of OD, unless you wanted it.
How do you like the steel tracks overall? I'm contemplating if it's worth buying a set for my Panther from another online seller.
