I drilled a new hole for the wheel axle. Then cut the trailing link shorter and tapped a hole for the set screw. Now my legs fit.
The Electron Kit I got came with 150mm struts for max 70mm diameter wheels, The Joker needed 138mm struts with make wheel size of 65mm diameter.
Why did I do this? Well this is my hobby and I do it for fun. It is not entirely based on rational choices.

You could have just sanded the opening ever so slightly.....and sanding the mount back a little....??

I'm surprised they didn't fit....and they do have 138mm Struts....

I would have had to remove too much to make the long struts fit.
I think my retract kit was shipped with the wrong struts.
Now the dimensions are known for anybody desiring to use the Electron gear in their Joker.

So you using the 70mm main wheel? Are you lengthening the nose to match? Joker is designed to sit with a positive AOA

I bought the Electron gear kit from the USA dealer. It came with 65mm main wheels, which I believe are the same diameter that the JP's came with.

Does anybody fly the Joker with a K70?
I bought a k70G4 for mine. I was thinking the field I fly at has altitude restriction of 250ft and I didn't necessary want a super fast aircraft of this size.
I've read here that folks had success with 60N turbines. So, a 70N turbine should be enough. CARF recommends 70-85N for the Joker but it seems everyone puts a 100N in it.

I have an 80 JetMunt in mine and its plenty of power .. 70 should be fun and long flight ..previously in the threads someone was using a 60, but take off take need a long runway

I have a 100 in mine but it is definitely not necessary. I have a buddy with a 70 in a mini t1 and it flies it well. I would think a 70 would fly the joker fine as well.

A bit off topic, but why does your field restrict altitude to 250'? Are you inside of controlled airspace?

VNY is about 2-miles north of Apollo Field (Sepulveda Basin)
Cannot fly when they are using runway 34 either.
Fed's shut the field down in 2019. The club & LA City worked with the FAA & VNY's to reopen the field with the understanding of 250ft altitude restriction and no flying when 34 is used.
I believe it's been a model airplane field since the 60's. Some folks call it the jungle. Weekends can be a little crowed and crazy. There are a few fires every year, mostly from the homeless encampments, but sometimes a crashed model starts a fire.
There is a 600ft paved runway and loads of people flying jets. I've been flying there, on/off since 1989. The past five years I've been watching the jets with much envy and I've finally joined the fun.

I flew one with a wren 60 and it was underpowered on our grass strip, but once in the air it was fine, a new 70 will be fine off a runway. Should be great fun, and a decent flight time too.

Tail Pipe Installatoin.
I've installed the pipe and found that the pipe is not parallel with the turbine mounting plates. It slopes up a degree or two. The cone lies on the factory rest and the top of the pipe is against the fuselage (per the instructions).
The pipe ends at the right spot at the rear of the fuselage.
The carbon inlet cone was screwed to the pre-drilled holes and it went on straight. But it does not push up against the wood formers at the mount. It appears the rear former was not glued in perpendicular to the mounts, which explains some of the offset.

I'm hoping this is all okay.

I made a second tray to mount equipment. In screws to the front of the wing opening and interlocks with the factory tray at its front end.
I'm planning to put two batteries and the air trap in the nose cone. These leaves plenty room on the two trays for the ECU, pump, receivers, Cortex, retract controller and CTU. I want to be clever with the wire routing to make maintenance easy. Its no fun to have to completely un-wire a fuselage just to pull one component out. That's what happened to be with my Rebel Hot: I need to take the pump out and ended up having to completely take the fuselage apart. Lesson learned!

where did you get your intakes from mate? They look really smart. I have a second tray on mine too, much easier to mount things.

As stated these are part of an EDF Conversion set that also includes a composite thrust tube, allowing a DS98 (128mm fan) to be installed in the Joker

The intakes were a bugger to get. Schubeler was not good at responding to my requests, although they did eventually reply much later. So, I contacted Gary at Efflux RC, because he sells their stuff in the USA. He was able to get me a set. The are part of the EFD conversion kit Schubeler makes.
They are not a drop in fit. Much cutting and sanding was needed, and I didn't do as good as a job as F-1 did. The fuselage at the intakes needs touch up paint, this is unavoidable. You can see that F-1 added silver paint to LA Jet Guys intakes.

But they do look cool.

They are intended to optimize the inlet area for the DS98 which requires a slight enlarging of the inlet openings of about 2-3mm on three sides.
They were never intended for the turbine powered Joker, but some have installed them and they probably clean up the air in front of the turbine.

I can’t see any down side. The inspiration jet the joker is based off is fully ducted, and it always niggled me that when I look into the intake I can see a fues former right in the airflow, be nice to smooth it off a little. Not worth it, if they cost a fortune. But I’d be interested in fitting them definitely.

A friend took white styrene and made an inner liner. That cleans that area up. I think he posted photos in this thread.
LA Jet Guy has also commented that his Joker with the ducting is quicker with them!

when the jet fly you don't notice anything ...good for EDF
You can make some very easy with foam and fibreglass and dissolve the foam or print them ...way to much ...

Still holding strong at full speed after many flights ... and you can't see the installation in the fuse through the intakes.
