RE: Fleet Brotherhood
One servo for each elevator half. Servos mounted so that the arms rotate in the same direction, or should I say opposite direction, since the servos rotate counter clockwise for up and clockwise for down. Or is it the other way around? Anyway, it's a symmetrical set up. I could have slid one of the servos over so they both rotated the same direction, or is that opposite direction, however I'm using a long rudder servo arm for a pull-pull setup, so there wasn't room. I'm sure that makes absolutely no sense, but I can't come up with a way to describe it.
I spent alot of time trying to figure out how to program my futaba radio to slave a channel to the elevator servo channel and it would work except the trim only worked for the elevator servo channel and the slave wouldn't trim with it. If somebody knows how to do this, please let me know.
OK, a trip out to the garage to take pics...and to also show a pic showing the rivet/screw detail on the stab done with, I believe your method using yellow glue.

RE: Fleet Brotherhood
Your description made sense to me. I don't know if that's good or not.
The reason I asked in the first place is that I used a wire joiner between the elevator halves, similar to the full sized aircraft, negating the need for two servos.

Concept is out of bizz but plans and a kit 91/3rd scale) can be purchased at Precision Cut Kits. It builds a bit diffeent than Concept model but the lazer cut fits well. Plans alone are available through Ziroli's web site. Look for Ron Wiess 1/3scale Fleet.

RE: Fleet Brotherhood
Here's my same post as on the Concept Fleet forum:
First flight yesterday...
Way out of trim and I know it was because of the wing rigging. Also, power was marginal with my Quadra running so-so.
So I have things to work on. Then on to finish cockpit seats, pilot, windscreens, etc.

Last week I went back and tried to re-rig the wings. I ended up having to trim about 3/32" off the inboard half of the rear spar/wing joiners on the right wings to get the wing to align with the center section and the left wing. So basically the right wing spars don't line up with the center section and before I modified the joiners, the trailing edge of the right wing was about 1/8" lower than the center section trailing edge. Not sure how that happened...as soon as I figure out who to blame, I'll let you know.
Went out Saturday and flew the Fleet again and it was much better -- close to no trim needed.
Only the one flight as I had trouble with the fuel line arrangement with my Quadra which has the fuel feed nipple on the front so if the fuel line isn't just right the cowl tends to pinch it. And the carb came loose. So after removing the cowling about 5 times, I called it a day. When I got home I also discovered the landing gear wire brace came loose from where it's soldered to the bottom of the main gear leg.
So I have a bit of work to do.
Nothing new with this pic, just testing to see if I can post a pic.

Alot of tension on that joint where the braces meet up at the wheel hub. I notched my spreader wire before I wrapped it in copper and hadn't an issue with it yet. Even made it through the crash.
The new format suprised me a little. Seems to look nice and the print is a bit bigger which is always a good thing for old eyes.

Notching the wire sounds like a good idea. I may be able to notch it and shove it back into the copper wire wrapping and re-solder.
I notice I have to log in every time...looking for a way to stay logged in like it worked before.

Good cleaning at that joint is in order too. Might have been a cold solder or sumpin like that. That wire come with some maching oil from the forming process and maybe it contaminated a tool or ....
I notch my wire with a dremel and disc cutter.

Is it too late to join the brotherhood? I have a 1/4 scale NIB waiting for time to build it. I was a member of the Madison WI club,(MARCS) at the time Romey flew the prototype Fleet here. I had wanted one wver since. I finallay called him a few years ago, and he was assembling kits as orders came in.

good to read you Bob. Still hot down there? Nice Summer here until Sept. I went to my flying field and it was just too hot to maiden my NE-1. No one else there either.

I don't have any real plans yet for power, let alone even starting on it. Have had the box for 3 years and never even opened it. Been kind of on and off with rc for almost 40 years, more off than on and haven't really kept up too close on what's out there.

The 1/3 scale is almost done. I'll finish up the wing struts and joinery. Young AF lad made me an engine break in stand for the OS 300 before he deployed for a few months. I'll have to make some pix and put them up.
Sister in Atlanta says it has rained nearly every day this summer. 14 inches above normal. We're 12 inches up after a 9 year droubt.
We have mosquitos that demand the remaining K&B 100 fuel I have stored away in a gallon can. I love the smell of that brand when used.

Thanks Bob. I was lucky enough to see the maiden flight of the original concept fleet here in Madison. I have wanted one ever since. That was quite the monster back then. Way back when when Romey was kitting the 1/4 and 1/6 scale fleets along with the scout trainer among other things, he would open up his shop once a year for the cheap among us to pick thru the scraps of would that he wouldn't use. I think the kit is going to be my retirement project if I make it that far

Bob,
Have you gotten your motor back for BJ's? I got my Cub on a maiden and between the heavier Cub than the Sig, and... an old 25 year old motor that hasn't been used in 20 years, it was noticeably weaker and belched a boat load of rust and old goo.
I may keep flying with it until Fall and then I may install an OS 110 I just got. It suposed to bolt up straight away but we'll see about the carb and muffle placement. I hope not to have to modify anything other than the carb linkage.
I may go with SonicTronic ignition as the .91 still idles so realistically nice.
